Child Wellbeing Update - July 2019

Key Highlights This Month:  

Due to the holiday, the MACSSA/DHS Legislative meeting and CP Fiscal Workgroup did not meet.

 

On 7/2/19, there was a convening of Child Welfare Advocates facilitated by Kirsten Anderson of Aspire MN and Joanna Woolman from the Institute of Child Welfare Reform at Mitchell Hamline.  History was provided on the Child Wellbeing Network which has been meeting since 2009.  2019 Legislative outcomes were shared and hopes for 2020 Legislative proposals.  The group is considering how best to convene and support child welfare advocates to effectively advance changes for Minnesota’s children, youth, and families moving forward. 

7/10/19 the MACSSA/DHS CWB Team met (click here for minutes).  

Family First meeting to discuss the development of a Steering Committee was held on 6/22/19 (click here for minutes) and led by Deputy Assistant Commissioner Lisa Bayley.  The first Steering Committee will be held on 7/29/19.
