Child Wellbeing Update - June 2019

Key Highlights This Month:

MACSSA DHS Legislative and CP Fiscal Workgroup meetings were combined in June due to duplicate agenda items.  Meeting was held on June 6, 2019.  Minutes and Legislative Update document attached.

Next meeting with Aspire MN will be held on July 2, 2019.

The Child Welfare Network (CWN) started in 2009 and they are looking at how best to convene and support child welfare advocates to effectively advance changes for Minnesota’s children, youth and families.

A proposed new composition for this group going forward will include:

    • Co-Chairs Kirsten Anderson (AspireMN) and Joanna Woolman (Institute for Child Welfare Reform at Mitchell Hamline)
    • Convening to support shared child welfare legislative advocacy efforts
    • Updating the name to Child Welfare Advocacy Coalition (or another name that clearly defines our collaboration)
