HC Update - March 2018

Key Highlights This Month:  

  • DHS will host a videoconference on Tuesday 3/20 from 1:30-2:30 on Periodic Data Matching (PDM).  It will provide a brief overview of the PDM process, review of PDM OneSource procedures and will have some time for questions.  It will be recorded and posted on the HCR-PIX section on SIR.
  • Long Term Care training class added in May
  • Managed Care updates:
    • MCO written materials will be improved – DHS is moving to less paper
    • MCO websites will be improved
    • There is a new push for improved dental access

Issues/Concerns Regarding This Topic:  

  • There are some METS/MMIS interface issues specific to pregnant women and auto newborn – Help Desk is aware and working on them

Legislative Impacts:  

Currently awaiting proposals at the MN Legislature regarding Medicaid work requirements; some counties are starting to gather data in anticipation

 Representative Dean’s bill HF. 2735 “requiring the development of a new county-based eligibility determination system for medical assistance and Minnesota Care” was introduced and a hearing was held on February 27th.
