ISBM Update - June  2019

Key Highlights This Month:

ISBM Implementation Staff Update

County Co-lead Role: DHS is working with MACSSA on options for filling this role.

County Stakeholder Engagement Roles: In addition to Tina Klaphake, DHS is seeking 1-2 more stakeholder engagement leads to be resourced through county reimbursement agreements.

Program Simplification County Program Simplification & Alignment Core Team Seat: One county member seat on the PSA Core Team remains open. More details below.

5x5 Design Branding Project

The project to brand ISBM and create a messaging framework with firm 5x5 Design is nearing completion. The firm has spent time this month testing near-final messaging with individuals from different stakeholder groups who are largely unfamiliar with the work around ISBM, and will use that input to impact the final product, to be delivered at the end of June.

Persona/Service Blueprinting Project Progress

The team has been interviewing subject matter experts, beginning in 2 DHS business areas, and has finalized scripts, templates and plans for interviews with frontline social service workers, people who receive social services designed and developed by DHS, and additional staff and leadership stakeholders (in all DHS areas, MNIT, counties, tribal nations). Personas will ultimately cross programs and demonstrate various complexities, and will contribute to current- and future-state service blueprints, journey maps, among other outputs.

Program Simplification The enterprise program simplification and alignment effort is getting its first project underway in mid-June. The eight-week project will provide the baseline information necessary to articulate the first-year roadmap of eligibility-based simplification efforts, which is key to service integration. Having county viewpoints represented on this project is important and will help to validate the information gathered. Below are some details on the work group:

  • Total time commitment: 8 weeks from project launch. Projected completion is mid-August.
  • On-site time at DHS is not required. Opportunity for remote participants, and individuals from greater Minnesota, to help provide shape to this effort.
  • Active participation in research and feedback; opportunity to steer and ensure county voices are represented.

Please contact Jeffrey.Hendrix@state.mn.us  if you have additional questions or would like to engage in this workgroup.
