Modernization Update - May 2018

Key Highlights This Month:

There was not a monthly phone conference to discuss updates with each of our topic leads, however, MACSSA did convene a group to discuss governance and communication with the membership. An initial charter has been developed and is under review until the next meeting. Bina Nikrin from Hennepin County is under a shared services agreement between Hennepin and DHS to support this work. MACSSA is trying to pay attention to a communication structure that takes into account MACSSA Membership, County Board members and AMC.

Requested Actions Needed From MACSSA:  None right now.

New Trends in This Area:  The pace of modernization continues at a slow pace.

Issues/Concerns Regarding This Topic:

In the new IT governance structure, the Integrated Human Services Modernization Executive Steering Committee (IHSM ESC), in consultation with the Business Architecture Domain Team (BADT), is responsible to determine the new function-based Program Management Team (PMT) structure for modernization work. The original governance transition timeline had targeted having the new PMTs in place by June 1, and to sunset existing PMTs at that time. The IHSM ESC met for the first time last Friday, April 27. Recognizing the need to allow enough time to first determine the new PMT structure and sort through the details of the transition, the governance transition sponsors, Chuck Johnson and Greg Poehling, have approved an extension to the June 1 timeline.
